Georgia South Family Medicine Residency at Colquitt Regional Medical Center is located in Moultrie, Georgia. Accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and in Pre-Accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), Georgia South has built a program that adheres to both accrediting entities and plans on incorporating Osteopathic Recognition in the near future. The program offers a unique opportunity for residents to train in an unopposed program working side-by-side with practicing physicians in the area, designing a hands-on experience for each resident.
Colquitt Regional Medical Center is a 151-bed hospital that underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2014. The improved campus features a 24-bed Emergency Department, State-of-the-Art Surgical Center equipped with the Da Vinci Minimally Invasive Surgical System, a 10 bed ICU with all private rooms, and a new Cath Lab allowing our physicians to utilize the latest technology for patient care. In 2016 another renovation was completed enlarging the Diagnostic Imaging Department and installing a new 128-slice CT Scanner.
Colquitt Regional was the only hospital in Georgia to be recognized nationally as a 2014 Top Rural Hospital by the Leap Frog Group and has consistently received an “A” grade for their Hospital Safety Score. Over 20 specialties are represented within their medical staff and 10 new physicians have joined Colquitt Regional in the past year. Great things are happening at Colquitt Regional and the Georgia South Family Medicine Residency Program invites you to learn more about the first new program of its kind to be offered in South Georgia in two decades.
