The Educational Service’s department works in conjunction with other Colquitt Regional Medical Center departments to assess and provide for the educational needs of our patients and our community. Our purpose is to enhance the quality of care provided to citizens of Colquitt County and the surrounding counties through assessment of educational needs and provision of quality education programs.
We provide inpatient and outpatient education on various illnesses and diseases as ordered by the physician.
Our diabetes self-management program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. Our program consists of individual or group classes, which cover all aspects of diabetes management for Type 1, Type 2, or gestational diabetes.
Diabetes Support Group
We meet on the 4th Tuesday of most months to listen to a speaker with an interest in diabetes and to share questions/concerns.
Our Director of Educational Services works with nurses throughout the medical center to identify educational needs and provide programs to meet those needs.
Our educational service is here to identify community education needs, including the educational needs of businesses, and to provide educational programs as nedded. Ongoing classes offered are: American Heart Association’s Adult Heartsaver CPR, Pediatric CPR, Healthcare Provider CPR and American Heart Association First Aid and Blood borne pathogens.
