Colquitt Regional Gala To Honor Founders
The Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation held a Valentine’s dinner and gala at the Colquitt County Arts Center Thursday on February 10th.
Entertainment for the evening was provided by Atlanta’s three-time Entertainer of the Year comedian and pianist Jerry Farber, who has an uncanny ability to draw his audiences into his performances and energize the room with intense laughter. It’s been said that nobody impersonates an avid Georgia football fan like Farber does in his nationally acclaimed routine, “How ‘bout them dawgs!”
Farber engaged his audiences with his stand-up comedic routine and then wows them with his equally brilliant performance as a sit-down pianist, but the laughter didn’t end when the piano playing begins.
The gala honored the Foundation’s 85 Founders Society members, which is made up of those who have given $10,000 or more to the Foundation, and five new Founder’s were recognized. The new Founders are Dr. and Mrs. Matt Paine, Dr. and Mrs. Lanny Copeland, St. Jude Medical, R.J. Griffin and Mildred Barlow.
The meal included a Bibb lettuce salad with hot brie dressing, bread crumb encrusted chicken breasts topped with fresh lump crab meat and drizzled with Hollandaise sauce, steamed asparagus, twice-baked potatoes, roasted thyme carrots, mini croissants and key lime cheesecake with fresh raspberry coulis. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day there will also be a “candy bar” with an assortment of candy treats.
