MOULTRIE, GA —The new tower will expand the hospital’s bed capacity from 99 to 155 and enhance key services including surgical care and obstetrics, allowing Colquitt Regional to serve more patients while improving access to healthcare across the region.
“We are deeply grateful for Ameris Bank’s continued generosity and support of our health system,” said Colquitt Regional President and CEO Jim Matney. “Their contributions have had a lasting impact on both our medical education initiatives and patient care services. Support like this allows us to continue growing and meeting the healthcare needs of our community.”
Ameris Bank’s contribution was made through the Georgia HEART program, which allows Georgia taxpayers and businesses to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to support rural hospitals. Since the program began, Ameris Bank has been a dedicated partner in helping Colquitt Regional expand services and invest in the future of healthcare in South Georgia.
“We are proud to support Colquitt Regional through the Georgia HEART program and invest in the future of healthcare in our community,” said Ameris Bank Market President Josh Lovett. “This tax credit program allows us to make a meaningful impact locally, and we are excited to see these funds help bring the new medical tower to life and expand access to quality care for the people of our region.”
Ameris Bank has contributed to Colquitt Regional each year since the Georgia HEART program was established. Previous donations have helped fund major initiatives including the Edwards Cancer Center, the expansion of oncology services to include radiation therapy, the development of the Ameris Bank Medical Educational Building, and the opening of the inpatient Senior Wellness Unit.
“Our hospital is fortunate to have strong partnerships with organizations like Ameris Bank,” said Hospital Authority Chairman John Griffin. “Through the Georgia HEART program, these partnerships allow us to continue expanding healthcare services and investing in the future of rural medicine.”
