Colony Bank Donates $35,000 to Colquitt Regional

Moultrie, Ga. – Colquitt Regional recently received a generous $35,000 donation from Colony Bank to support several ongoing capital projects. This contribution was made through the Georgia Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program, which was established in 2016 in response to the growing number of rural hospital closures across the state.

Colony Bank was among the many Georgia taxpayers in 2024 who chose to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to benefit Colquitt Regional through this impactful initiative. The check was presented to Colquitt Regional President and CEO Jim Matney by Colony Bank Market President Cole Posey.

“We are fortunate to be part of a community that values and invests in its healthcare system,” said Matney. “This donation from Colony Bank reinforces our mission to provide exceptional care and continue expanding services and technologies that make a difference in the lives of our patients.”

The tax credit program, created by the Georgia General Assembly, provides vital support to ensure the continued growth and development of essential healthcare services in underserved areas.

“I am proud to represent an organization that values our community commitment to quality healthcare,” said Colony Bank Moultrie Market President Cole Posey. “I have seen first-hand the impact the Georgia Heart program has on Colquitt Regional’s ability to expand their scope of services, attract and retain providers, and explore new capital projects.”

Through the Georgia HEART program, Colquitt Regional has completed several major expansions in recent years, including the construction of a state-of-the-art oncology center, the addition of radiation therapy services, the development of a senior wellness unit, and a 39,000-square-foot education building and physician clinic.

“Since joining the Georgia HEART program in 2018, we’ve seen the power of community generosity,” said Hospital Authority Chairman John Griffin. “Donations like this one from Colony Bank have had a lasting impact on our hospital and the patients we serve.”
