MOULTRIE, GA —The new EMS station represents a major investment in strengthening emergency response capabilities and enhancing patient care throughout the region. The modern facility features expanded ambulance bays, improved training and meeting spaces, upgraded technology, and comfortable accommodations for EMS personnel on shift.
“This new EMS facility is a tremendous step forward for our community,” said Colquitt Regional President and CEO Jim Matney. “Our EMS professionals are often the first point of contact for patients in critical need, and providing them with the tools, space, and support they deserve ensures that we continue to deliver exceptional, lifesaving care when it matters most.”
County Administrator Chas Cannon also recognized the collaborative effort behind the project. “This was a joint effort between many local organizations, to include the Hospital, the City of Moultrie, GDOT, and others. I appreciate their efforts and also the work of the Board of Commissioners and our county staff in the construction of the new EMS station. It is something we can all be proud of. I think it is a win/win for our taxpayers and for those whose lives will be saved as a result of our well-trained EMS personnel.”
The ribbon-cutting event welcomed local officials, hospital leadership, EMS staff, and community members to tour the facility and meet the men and women who serve on the front lines of emergency medical care.
“Colquitt County is fortunate to have such a highly skilled and dedicated EMS team,” said Hospital Authority Chairman John Griffin. “This new location not only strengthens our emergency response system but also reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in the people and resources that make Colquitt Regional a trusted leader in healthcare.”
Colquitt County EMS operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, responding to thousands of emergency calls each year. The team provides advanced life support, critical care transport, and disaster response, working closely with Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s Emergency Department and area first responders to ensure rapid, coordinated care.
