Your child’s head start on health starts here.
Pediatric care – for newborns, children and adolescents — is essential to your child’s lifelong health and well-being. Services
Our physicians recognize that children are not just small adults but have unique wellness and care needs. Services range from routine check-ups and vaccinations to diagnosis and treatment of illness and chronic conditions.
Newborn checkups cover a range of measures, immunizations and physical exams, including assessment of your baby’s head, mouth, eyes, ears, lungs and other parts of the body. Your infant’s height, weight, head circumference and blood pressure are measured and monitored. Vision and hearing evaluations are also provided.
Regular wellness checkups are essential to your child’s healthy start in life, monitoring your child’s development based on appropriate milestones and providing recommended immunizations. These appointments are also an opportunity to identify early symptoms of potential illnesses, allowing for timely treatment to alleviate or minimize impact on your child’s life.
Specialized health services include sports and school physicals and pre-procedure clearance exams.
Your pediatrician can treat common childhood illnesses like colds, ear infections and fever. Strep throat, pink eye and the flu are just a few of many illnesses that are found and spread in school, play groups and other activities. With our expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood illnesses and diseases, we strive for timely healing and recovery for your child.
Your pediatrician will partner with you to help manage your child’s chronic health condition, such as asthma, ADHD or diabetes. Ongoing care is vital to managing these health issues.
Our pediatricians can treat minor childhood injuries and provide wound care for conditions such as sprains and strains, minor cuts and lacerations, bruises and minor burns. We will also provide guidance for home care and continued recovery, as well as ways to avoid re-injury.
Colquitt Regional’s six-bed inpatient pediatric unit is thoughtfully designed with children in mind, offering a comfortable and engaging environment featuring unique, child-friendly themes to help ease anxiety during their stay. This unit is staffed 24/7 by a specialized team of pediatric physicians and nurses, enabling us to treat a wide range of health conditions close to home and family.
Our dedicated pediatric hospitalists provide comprehensive oversight of your child’s day-to-day care, including diagnosis, treatment and necessary medical procedures. They collaborate closely with nurses, respiratory therapists and other clinicians who possess specialty training and utilize advanced pediatric monitoring technologies to ensure the highest quality of care. The hospitalists also serve as a central point for communication across the entire care team and with your family, ensuring you are always informed.
Recognizing the importance of family presence in a child’s healing, we encourage one parent or guardian to stay with their child, providing courtesy meals and a comfortable chair bed for their convenience.
