Emergency Department

When minutes count, you can count on immediate attention from our skilled physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Newly renovated, the Emergency Department includes 24 private patient treatment rooms. Rooms are equipped with Advanced Cardiac Monitoring Systems and feature computers at the bedside for nurse documentation. An emergency physician is always present in the emergency room, ready to provide needed medical care. A staff of advanced practice practioners assist the emergency room doctors delivering care to emergency room patients. Supporting the physicians and advanced practice practioners is our team of nurses, paramedics, EMTs and medical assistants. All licensed staff in the Emergency Department are certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS). Many are also trained and certified in trauma nursing.

Emergency Department patients are assessed to determine the severity of their condition and then transferred to the treatment area according to their triage level. Top priority is given to patients suffering from life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes and severe trauma. Other patients are transferred to the treatment area as quickly as possible when beds are available. Our goal is to move all patients to the treatment area immediately.
