MOULTRIE, GA —These designations were awarded by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), an organization that evaluates healthcare providers against nationally recognized standards for quality, safety and patient care. Each accreditation recognizes a different area of specialized pharmacy care.
Infusion pharmacy services support patients who need medications delivered through an IV or other infusion method, often to treat complex medical conditions. These services can allow patients to receive certain treatments outside a traditional hospital setting.
Specialty pharmacy services help patients who need specialized medications to manage complex or chronic conditions. These services often include coordinating prescriptions, monitoring medications and helping patients understand how to take their medications safely and effectively.
Long-term care pharmacy services support residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities by helping ensure medications are provided accurately and on time. Pharmacists work with healthcare providers and care teams to support residents’ medication needs.
“Earning ACHC accreditation in three specialized pharmacy categories is a significant accomplishment and reflects the dedication of the Sterling Group Pharmacy team,” said Colquitt Regional President and CEO Jim Matney. “As we continue to expand our pharmacy services, including outpatient and specialty pharmacy options, we are making it easier for patients to access the medications they need while remaining within the same trusted health system. These services extend the continuum of care we provide and allow us to better meet our patients’ needs at every stage of their healthcare journey.”
To earn accreditation, healthcare organizations must demonstrate that they meet established standards for quality, safety and patient-centered care. The process also requires an ongoing commitment to maintaining those standards and improving services.
“This achievement reflects Sterling Group Pharmacy’s commitment to meeting nationally recognized standards and delivering reliable, high-quality pharmacy services,” said Hospital Authority Chairman John Griffin. “As the healthcare needs of our region continue to evolve, it is important that we continue investing in services that strengthen our health system and support the patients and healthcare providers who depend on us.”
The three accreditations strengthen Sterling Group Pharmacy’s ability to serve patients with complex medication needs and support healthcare providers across South Georgia.
