Empowering communication, one word at a time.

Speech and language are at the heart of how we connect with the world, how we learn, share and build relationships. At Colquitt Regional’s Speech-Language Pathology program, our licensed speech-language pathologists (also known as speech therapists) help individuals of all ages overcome communication challenges and swallowing difficulties through personalized, evidence-based care.

Whether your child is struggling with language development, or you or a loved one is recovering speech after a stroke, we’re here to support your journey toward clearer communication and safer swallowing.

Services, Programs & Certificates

Early language skills are the foundation for reading and academic success. We provide support to families and young children to promote strong communication habits starting at birth and continuing through preschool.

Our speech-language pathologists also work with individuals experiencing:

  • Voice disorders (hoarseness, pitch control issues)
  • Cognitive-communication impairments due to brain injury, stroke or dementia
  • Neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease

NMES uses gentle electrical currents to stimulate the muscles involved in swallowing. This therapy can help improve muscle strength and coordination, supporting safer and more effective swallowing for patients with dysphagia.

LSVT LOUD® is an evidence-based speech therapy designed to help individuals with Parkinson’s disease improve vocal loudness, clarity and communication. The program focuses on high-effort exercises to strengthen the voice and make speech more confident and easier to understand.

Fast ForWord® is a computer-based program that targets the brain’s ability to process language. Through interactive exercises, it helps strengthen memory, attention, processing speed and sequencing—key skills for communication and learning.

BrainHQ offers online brain training exercises that challenge memory, attention and processing speed. These engaging activities can support cognitive recovery and improve overall brain performance for patients of all ages.

Our speech-language pathologists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association—a national credential that recognizes advanced professional skills, training and a commitment to the highest standards of patient care.
