MOULTRIE, Ga. – Held on Thursday, October 2, the event transformed downtown Moultrie into a sea of pink as hundreds of participants joined the one-mile awareness walk, enjoyed live entertainment, and took part in a variety of family-friendly activities. The evening also featured giveaways, food trucks, and sweet treats, creating a fun and meaningful atmosphere for all ages.
All proceeds from Pink Out The Night will directly support the Edwards Cancer Center, helping expand resources and enhance care for patients throughout South Georgia.
“Pink Out The Night has quickly become one of the most meaningful events we host each year,” said Colquitt Regional President and CEO Jim Matney. “It’s inspiring to see our community unite behind this cause, and the generosity shown will have a lasting impact on our patients and their families.”
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Colquitt Regional Health System continues its commitment to early detection and prevention. Throughout October, free mammography screenings are available at Sterling Center Women’s Health for eligible individuals. Walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or appointments can be scheduled by calling 229-985-EXAM.
To qualify for a free screening, participants must be age 40 or older, uninsured, not pregnant, not currently experiencing breast problems, have not had a mammogram within the past 12 months, and reside in one of the following counties: Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Colquitt, Crisp, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Lee, Lowndes, Mitchell, Thomas, Tift, Turner, or Worth.
Colquitt Regional is also encouraging the community to show their support throughout the month by participating in its Pink Power photo challenge. Pink-themed photo stations are set up across campus—including in the Main Lobby, Visitor’s Lobby, Edwards Cancer Center lobbies, Administration Lobby, Ameris Education Building Lobby, and the Kate Jeter Serenity Garden—where guests can snap a photo, share it on social media, and tag Colquitt Regional Medical Center using #PinkPower and #StrongerTogether for a chance to win special giveaways.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about more than wearing pink—it’s about education, early detection, and hope,” said Hospital Authority Chairman John Griffin. “Through events like this and our ongoing screening initiatives, Colquitt Regional is helping save lives and supporting those who are fighting this disease every day.”
