Originally from California, Green attended Pensacola Christian College before earning his medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine. During his third and fourth year clinical rotations in Warner Robins, he developed a desire to remain in Georgia and continue his training in a rural setting.
“Georgia South stood out as one of the best rural residency programs I found,” said Green. “The supportive environment and strong faculty made it an easy choice.”
Green chose to pursue a career in healthcare after witnessing the impact a compassionate pediatrician had on families in his community. His desire to serve others was further shaped by his home church and encouragement from his grandfather, who emphasized the lasting need for physicians.
He selected family medicine for its broad scope of training, which aligns with his long-term goal of pursuing a sports medicine fellowship. Green is particularly interested in sports medicine, pediatrics and caring for injured athletes with a comprehensive, whole-person approach.
His experience at Georgia South has been overwhelmingly positive, noting that faculty members are deeply invested in resident education and that attending physicians are dedicated teachers who provide consistent encouragement. The program has also supported him in tailoring his elective rotations toward his fellowship goals.
Colquitt Regional appealed to Green because of its rural setting, tight-knit community, and welcoming atmosphere.
One of his favorite memories so far has been participating in the Special Olympics event held at Colquitt County High School.
“It really showed the heart of this community,” he said. “The way people come together to support families and children through action, not just words, was incredibly meaningful.”
Outside of work, Green enjoys playing board games with fellow intern residents as well as basketball, volleyball, and roller skating. An interesting fact about Green is that he served as captain of his high school basketball team during his senior year.
