Reflecting Service Excellence

Since 2012, the annual Walter E. Harrison Jr. Humanitarian Award has honored a healthcare professional who exemplifies compassionate service and a strong commitment to community outreach—the guiding principles of Dr. Harrison’s distinguished medical career.

Dr. Harrison dedicated his life to helping those in need, both locally and through medical missions abroad. Following his passing in December 2010, a restricted fund was established to support the annual presentation of this award, made possible by a generous anonymous gift in his memory.

The award is presented each December during the Love Light Ceremony, a tradition that reflects the spirit of giving and service Dr. Harrison embodied.
