About the Emergency Department
Emergency Department patients are assessed to determine the severity of their condition and then transferred to the treatment area according to their triage level. Top priority is given to patients suffering from life-threatening conditions such as heart attacks, strokes and severe trauma. Other patients are transferred to the treatment area as quickly as possible when beds are available. Our goal is to move all patients to the treatment area immediately.
The emergency room is intended for use by those with serious problems of an urgent nature. Persons with minor illnesses or injuries are encouraged to seek treatment at their physician’s office or at an urgent care center.
