Why Choose Our Family Medicine Program?

Our Family Medicine Residents

We are proud to say that we have a full complement of 12 residents in our program who all have a passion for providing care to our rural, undeserved population in Moultrie and Southwest Georgia.

Our Family Medicine Residency Faculty

Our faculty at Georgia South Family Medicine represent a wide variety of clinical expertise and are readily available for electives, advising, and teaching. Across the board, they are enthusiastic supervisors, mentors, and teachers who truly enjoy investing in our residents.

Our Family Medicine Rotations

The majority of our rotations occur at Colquitt Regional Medical Center and include many different subspecialties. Residents gain hands-on experience as they work with a variety of attendings. Our medical staff are all supportive of creating a collaborative environment for our residents.

Our Family Medicine Didactics

Every Wednesday from 1:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m., Georgia South Family Medicine has weekly didactic sessions. These sessions include core lectures, which cover topics pertinent to the foundation of Family Medicine Curriculum and prepare our residents for their boards. Core lectures are repeated annually to allow residents to review core topics and concepts multiple times throughout their three years of residency training. In addition to core lectures, didactic sessions include journal clubs, patient safety and case reviews, resident-led lectures, board review, review of certifications, and practice management meetings.

Our Family Medicine Curriculum

Our family medicine curriculum is structured so that all residents will complete their graduation requirements with ease.
