About Us

Colquitt Regional Medical Center is home to two exceptional residency programs – Georgia South Family Medicine and Georgia South Psychiatry. Developed to address the need to train physicians to practice in rural and community-based settings, the programs have focused on creating a broad range of experiences for residents that provide academic structure, clinical experiences, and dynamic relationships.

Support

Our residents are welcomed as part of a team that includes the community, hospital administration, and their peers. The connections with mentors and colleagues create a strong support foundation for residents. The advisors and attendings greatly value the opportunity to train the next generation of physicians and are committed to the ideals of teaching and lifelong learning.

Learning Environment

Our residents are exposed to a comprehensive, robust learning environment where they are shaped to become well-rounded, competent physicians who are confident in their ability to provide exceptional patient care. This includes weekly didactics, where residents are challenged in case reviews, journal club and lectures.  Residents will also engage in resident forums, simulated learning experiences and grand rounds while in training. We strive to provide every academic and clinical resource that residents will need, and work towards individualized education plans for each resident on duty.

Work-Life Balance

Come for the work. Stay for the life. From our 24/7 on-site employee fitness center and yearly retreats to monthly wellness seminars and dedicated personal time, we promote activities that focus on the total well-being of the individual. We provide residents with all the resources necessary to not only thrive while practicing medicine, but to live an enriched life outside the hospital and clinic walls.
