Psychiatric Services

Senior Wellness Unit

Many factors influence the mental health and well-being of older adults. Geropsychiatric care helps to address changes brought on by the aging process that can be challenging, overwhelming, and sometimes debilitating. Our services seek to offer comfort to seniors suffering from emotional and psychological distresses such as depression, anxiety, grief, changes or problems with medication, and psychiatric disorders in combination with other medical conditions.

Becoming aware of and understanding how the aging process can affect a person’s mental and physical health is an important step of the healing process. Our Senior Wellness Unit combines a safe environment, a structured and supportive social setting, intense psychiatric and psychological therapeutic interventions, and medical services to help seniors achieve their optimal level of functioning.

Our 10-bed facility provides short-term intensive treatment for the elderly who suffer from acute psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairment, and age-related physiological disabilities.

Our treatments include:

  • Admission screening
  • Comprehensive evaluation and assessment
  • Individual treatment planning
  • Individual and family therapy
  • Group therapy (occupational and activity)
  • Medication management
  • Discharge planning
  • Outreach and referral for aftercare
