The Cobb Community Chapel is located on the first floor of Colquitt Regional across from the cafeteria. It is open to the public during regular visiting hours. Each weekday morning a brief prayer service is conducted by Hospital Chaplain Rev. Hugh Ward at 10:30 a.m. Employees, visitors and family members are welcome to attend.
HISTORY
In 1975, a chapel was established at Colquitt Regional and dedicated to the Rev. Garnie Brand. As the hospital has expanded, the chapel has moved around over the years. However, it has remained an unwavering place of comfort to families, employees, and visitors. In 2014, when Colquitt Regional was undergoing major renovations, Gayla and Bobby Cobb gifted the Colquitt Regional Medical Center Foundation with funds for a new chapel. Their desire was for a spacious and serene place for all to find sanctuary. The Cobb Chapel was given in honor of the hospital chaplains that have served Colquitt Regional and a dedication ceremony was held in November of 2017.
