Colquitt Regional has received an “A” Hospital Safety Score 18 times, most recently in the Spring of 2024. This “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group names Colquitt Regional as one of the safest hospitals in the Nation. The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit watchdog organization that serves as a voice for health care purchasers, using their collective influence to foster positive change in U.S. health care. Leapfrog is the nation’s premier advocate of hospital transparency – collecting, analyzing and disseminating hospital data to inform value-based purchasing.
Press Ganey Experience Pinnacle of Excellence Award
Colquitt Regional is a 2023 Press Ganey Human Experience (HX) Pinnacle of Excellence Award® winner. As a winner of the Press Ganey HX Pinnacle of Excellence Award®, Colquitt Regional has ranked in the top five percent of healthcare providers in delivering patient experience over a minimum of two years.
Press Ganey Experience Guardian of Excellence Award
Colquitt Regional is a 2022 Press Ganey HX Guardian of Excellence Award® winner. This accolade represents Colquitt Regional’s leadership, providing more human-centric care experiences by identifying what physicians need most and pivoting quickly. Colquitt Regional ranks in the 95th percentile in physician engagement amongst other healthcare facilities across the nation.
In 2020, Colquitt Regional Medical Center received the Tennessee Center for Performance Excellence (TNCPE) Commitment Award. This award recognizes organizations who demonstrate serious commitment and implementation of performance improvement principles outlined in the Baldrige Framework for Excellence. The Baldrige Framework is implemented across industries of all sorts to help empower organizations to reach goals and improve results, along with becoming more competitive by aligning its plans, processes, decisions, people, actions, and results. Colquitt Regional was one of only six organizations nationwide to achieve this status in 2020.
In August of 2020, Colquitt Regional was designated as a Pathway to Excellence organization by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Colquitt Regional joins only five other hospitals in the state of Georgia to receive this designation, and is the first organization in South Georgia to achieve this status. Colquitt Regional began the journey to Pathway to Excellence in 2019 and has been an ongoing process over the past year. There are several qualifications that are necessary to achieve Pathway status. The hospital must meet six practice standards that are essential to an ideal nursing practice environment. This includes shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, culture of well-being, and professional development. In December of 2017 Colquitt Regional Medical Center was named as a 2017 Top Rural Hospital by The Leapfrog Group. Nationwide only 18 rural hospitals received this distinction, and this was the 2nd time that Colquitt Regional has been named to the list. The Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive. Performance across many areas of hospital care is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award, including infection rates, maternity care, and the hospital’s capacity to prevent medication errors. Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission
Colquitt Regional voluntarily underwent a thorough evaluation by The Joint Commission to see if our facility meets The Joint Commission’s rigorous performance standards in delivering quality, safe care. By meeting these standards, Colquitt Regional received The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval – an internationally recognized symbol of quality.
Bariatrics Program Accredited by MBSAQIP
The bariatric surgical center at Colquitt Regional has been accredited as a Comprehensive Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint program of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS). The MBSAQIP standards ensure that bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program, not just a surgical procedure, which improves patient outcomes and long-term success.
Total Joint Replacement Program
In November of 2016, Colquitt Regional was the first hospital in South Georgia to receive the Gold Seal of Approval for Certification from the Joint Commission for our Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement Program.
Antibiotic Stewardship Honor Roll – Platinum Designation
In 2024, Colquitt Regional received the platinum designation—the highest honor—from the Georgia Department of Public Health in the Acute Care Antibiotic Stewardship Program Honor Roll. This recognition underscores the hospital’s commitment to promoting responsible antibiotic use and improving patient outcomes in the acute care setting.

This award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence.

Georgia Department of Public Health – Remote Stroke Treatment Center Designation The Georgia Department of Public Health has designated Colquitt Regional Medical Center as one of twenty Remote Stroke Treatment Centers in the state of Georgia. The designation recognizes Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s advancement in quality care for stroke patients. This includes rapid screening, diagnosis, and intervention for stroke patients. This designation also recognizes the Hospital’s secondary prevention measures, such as blood pressure control and smoking cessation, to reduce the incidence of recurrent strokes. Stroke patients require immediate treatment, which is why Colquitt Regional Medical Center has worked to earn this designation and provide local access to this level of care in our community.
Level II Maternal Care Verified Facility
In 2023, The Joint Commission’s Maternal Levels of Care (MLC) Verification program, offered in collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), named Colquitt Regional Medical Center as a Level II maternal care verified facility. As a Level II facility, Colquitt Regional has demonstrated it can care for all of Level I and Level II patients. Level I includes basic care for low to moderate-risk pregnancies, demonstrating the ability to detect, stabilize, and initiate management of unanticipated maternal-fetal or neonatal problems that occur during the antepartum, intrapartum, or postpartum period until the patient can be transferred to a facility at which the specialty maternal care is available. Level II denotes Level I, plus moderate- to high-risk antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum conditions.
Von Center of Excellence Award
In 2021, Colquitt Regional was awarded the Von Center of Excellence for successfully meeting the goal of standardized universal education and training
in partnership with the Vermont Oxford Network, Georgia DPH, and GaPQC to improve outcomes for infants and families affected by NAS. The award was presented on October, 15, 2021 by the GaPQC Leadership Committee.
Rural Hospital Achievement Award
In 2021, Colquitt Regional received the Rural Hospital Achievement Award in recognition of the collective-impact to improve maternal health outcomes in Georgia. This award was presented on October 15, 2021 by the GaPQC Leadership Committee.
